Hej listan! Mötet igår beslutade att DFRI skall ha en s.k. flashproxy-badge på hemsidan. Här är ett utkast till svensk text som förklarar vad det går ut på. Förbättringsförslag? --8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8--- Flashproxy är ett program som låter en webläsare reläa trafik mellan blockerade internetanvändare och Tor-nätverket. Genom att klicka på flashproxy-symbolen förvandlar du din webläsare till en slags proxy. Din webläsare kommer periodiskt att fråga en s.k. facilitator om det finns några blockerade Tor-användare som har bett om en proxy. När den får information om en blockerad användare kopplar den upp sig till denna och börjar reläa trafik till och från Tor-nätet. När du stänger fliken som flash-proxy kör i så slutar din browser att reläa trafik. On 29 May 2013 the Commission extended the time limit with 15 working days arguing the "new time limit" was statutory under Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001. The Commission explained it had to extend the period by 15 working days because its reply to DFRI was "circulating for signature by the hierarchy" and that "circulating for signature by the hierarchy" is an "exceptional case" under the same article. The answer EDRi member DFRI received today was not signed by anyone but the sender of the email. Neither did it contain any ACTA documents. The Commission argues that: "The question of the Court to the Commission, being a procedural document, does not fall within the scope of Regulation 1049/2001 as Article 15(3) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFUE) specifies that the Court is only subject to obligations on Transparency when exercising their administrative tasks. This has as consequence that the document itself can't be disclosed by the Commission." Investor-to-state dispute settlement gives multinationals the possibility to sue states for special tribunals if changes in law may lead to lower profits than expected. This threatens democracy, the public interest and copyright and patent law reform, according to the FFII. During the discussions on the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA), civil society groups warned that ACTA would make it impossible to reform dysfunctional aspects of copyright and patent law. A trade agreement with the US containing investor-to-state dispute settlement would have the same effect. One of ACTA's most harmful aspects may return in an EU - US trade agreement. Multinationals will be able to use billion euro claims to stop law changes in order to protect old or even harmful business models. After Germany decided to shut down older nuclear reactors Swedish energy group Vattenfall claimed 3.7 billion euro from Germany using investor-to-state dispute settlement. U.S. based pharma corporation Eli Lilly uses investor-to-state dispute settlement to challenge Canada's patent law. Multinationals will not have to use the well-functioning European court system to sue states. The special tribunals for multinationals will be placed above the high courts of the EU and the US. This is a fundamental design flaw, according to the FFII. FFII analyst Ante Wessels: "Special interest tribunals above the European Court of Justice will distort the trias politica, the very foundation of our democracy. Naive politicians created a euro with design flaws, will equally naive European politicians hand over our democracies to multinationals? Det är utskickat före det möte som var för typ 10 dagar sedan. Det är formellt justitiedepartementet som håller i detta, minns inte om ni kom fram till det i tidigare inlägg eller ej. Tyvärr har jag inte lusläst tidigare versioner, så jag kan inte uttala mig om förändringarna. Men det är ju ett antal punkter som väcker undran ... Hej listan! Jag fick phishing e-post genom I-tunes (första gången) fr. Frankrike. Anmälade det, det blev mkt komplicerat men det finns "faktiskt" en adress till Apple: reportphishing(a)apple.com Tada //Jonas PS. Följer ACTA med stort intresse och jag måste säga mkt bra jobbat, kvällsläsning när/om det dyker upp till slut. Svårare och viktigare än någonsin.
